Long Beach Education Foundation - provides school library books, scholarships to at-risk student, uniforms for needy children and other assistance. A hundred percent of every tax-deductible donation to the Foundation goes directly to help schools and students. For information call (562) 997-8054.
Volunteers in Public Schools assist in local schools and classrooms. If you would like to apply to become a school volunteer, call your school or (562) 997-8457.
Education Celebration. Parents and students are invited to learn about magnet schools, special programs and enrollment options available in the Long Beach Unified School District at this event. Call the Magnet Office for information at 997-8308.
Business Partners. Our schools have formed more than 1,000 Educational Partnerships with business and industry. They provide guest speakers and encourage students to learn. If your company would like information on how to participate, call your nearest school.
Rotary Readers. In local elementary schools, more than 100 Rotary Readers are trained to help children improve their reading skill in kindergarten through third grades. For information call (562) 436-8181.
Parent Boosters and Alumni Groups assist high schools and students with uniforms, grad nights, scholarships and in dozens of other ways. For information, call the office of the activities specialist at your local high school.
School Site Councils provide principals with helpful input and volunteer services. Contact your local school's principal for information.
