GATE / EXCEL
The Gifted and Talented Education Office provides services designed to fit the needs of students with high academic potential. This program fosters growth in preparation for continued success. Out services are not limited to this program, as we promote development opportunities for all students.
Dual Language Immersion
Our Dual Immersion program with unique and exciting opportunities for students to prepare for a global future, becoming bilingual and biliterate in two languages, and develops multicultural perspectives.
Co-Teaching
Co-teaching is defined as two teachers working together with groups of students and sharing the planning, organization, delivery, and assessment of instruction and physical space.
Before and After School Programs
Through LBUSD's Expanded Learning Opportunities Programs (ELOP), thousands of local students and their families have access to convenient, no-cost, high-quality expanded academic programs as well as physically and emotionally healthy activities for youth development.
Migrant Education
The mission of the LBUSD Migrant Education Program is to help migrant students and youth meet high academic challenges by overcoming the obstacles created by frequent moves, educational disruption, cultural and language differences and health-related problems.
Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment: LBUSD provides Dual Enrollment options at both Long Beach City College and California State University, Long Beach. The Early College model is a strategically designed educational program that enables students to earn a high school diploma alongside an associate degree, or up to two years of college credit, by taking a blend of high school and college courses.

Pathways
In Long Beach, pathways are designed to create a "school within a school" environment for students through a rigorous academic course of study, real-world learning experiences, caring adults who provide guidance and advising, and social-emotional and learning support to prepare students for college and careers.
All LBUSD pathways prepare students to meet the entry requirements for California Universities, referred to as A-G requirements, upon high school graduation. More about our Pathways
