Workplace Violence Prevention Strategies
Preventing workplace violence starts with preparation and a plan. Below are several strategies that can assist in avoiding or preventing workplace violence.
See Something, Say Something - Immediately report situations or concerns to your supervisor, manager, or administrator.
- Review site safety plans and evacuation routes. Walk these routes to ensure you know where you are going in an emergency. Learn routes from different areas around your site.
- Participate in site emergency drills and preparations.
- Pay attention to your surroundings.
- Understand and recognize the warning signs of potential violent situations (intimidating behavior, verbal or physical abuse, threats, significant changes in behavior, and signs of stress)
- Keep an updated list of contact information in case of emergency.
