The SchoolMessenger App simplifies communication for parents in a few key ways:
📱 Easy Access to Messages
Instead of checking emails, voicemails, or paper notices, parents get all school messages—like updates, alerts, and reminders—in one app. This saves time and keeps everything in one place.
🗂 Organized Information
Messages are sorted by type (e.g., emergency alerts, attendance notices, event updates), so parents can quickly find what they need without digging through clutter.
🔔 Custom Notifications
Parents can choose how they want to be notified—by text, email, or app alert—and even set preferences for different types of messages. This helps them stay informed without being overwhelmed.

How Do Parents Sign Up?
SchoolMessenger and Classroom Messaging
SchoolMessenger is a web-based mass communications tool used by the district, schools, and teachers to send mass notifications and personalized communication to families, staff, and the community through phone, email, text (SMS), and push notifications for phone app users. It is used for sharing updates about district and school events, safety and emergency updates, and daily absence/tardy notifications.
SchoolMessenger's Classroom Messaging Module enables teachers to communicate directly with parents in their preferred home language by sending pre-configured voice and email messages. At 6 PM each day, all the comments for each student are compiled into a personalized single message to all parents/caregivers.
Recipients are contacted using contact information provided through your school's enrollment and Annual Verification process.
If you are receiving calls and do not have any children in the district, please email the system administrator at dhuot@lbschools.net. If you are a parent and have questions or concerns about SchoolMessenger, first contact your school because the school office will need to make updates in their system first.
Text Messaging
SchoolMessenger allows the district and school sites to send text messages in the form of "Short Message Service" or SMS from the number 67587. The system is only configured to send text messages to cell phone numbers in SchoolMessenger whose recipients have officially opted in to receive them.
Individuals will receive text messages ONLY if all three of the following requirements* are met:
-
A cell phone number is on file with your school provided through your child's enrollment or Annual Verification process. If you need you change or add a new phone number, you must update it through your child's school.
-
The individual opts-in by texting the letter "Y" or "Yes" to the number, 67587.
-
The message sender, either the district or school, chooses to send messages by text.
*These requirements address any concerns related to the accuracy of the database and costs associated with receiving text messages.
