Foundational Reading Skills Assessment (FRSA)
Foundational reading skills are the basic skills students need to become strong readers. These skills help students learn how to read words, understand what they read, and become better at reading over time.
They include: knowing letters and sounds, learning what each letter looks like and what sound it makes, sounding out words, putting letter sounds together to read new words, reading common words quickly. Students are given the FRSA to understand how well they have learned these skills.

Reading Difficulty Screener (Amira)
The screener platform measures reading mastery through productive oral language tasks, like oral reading fluency, letter sounding and decoding pseudo-words. By analyzing real-time reading behaviors (such as miscues, patterns, pauses, and self-corrections), the screener platform assesses what students know and pinpoints the specific skills that need further development.
