The CTE Model Curriculum Standards are designed to assist California districts and schools in developing high-quality curriculum and instruction to help ensure that students are career and college ready and to prepare them for future careers. The standards are rigorous, evidence-based, relevant, and reasonable in scope. They offer clear guidelines for course outline development and expectations for student achievement. Each of the 15 industry sector sections includes a description, anchor standards, pathway standards, and an academic alignment matrix (which includes CCSS).

Los Angeles County Office of Education - Career Technical Education (LACOE-CTE) is an approved Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) Program Sponsor for the Designated Subjects (DS) Credentials in Career Technical Education, Adult Education, and Supervision and Coordination. The Designated Subjects Credentials Unit processes the Preliminary and Clear Career Technical Education and Adult Education Credentials as well as the Supervision and Coordination Credential for qualified candidates.
