Superintendent Jill A. Baker has announced her decision to retire at the conclusion of the 2025–2026 school year, marking more than 34 years of service to the Long Beach Unified School District and a career rooted in students, community, and purpose.
The Long Beach Unified School District Board of Education approved a new policy, with all members present voting in favor: "Reclaiming Attention: Limiting Distractions, Supporting Wellness," scheduled to take full effect on January 26, 2026.
