Teacher Librarian of the Year

Long Beach Unified School District proudly congratulates Katherine "Kat" Tacea of Cabrillo High School on being recognized as Teacher Librarian of the Year by the Long Beach School Librarians Association!

Throughout her career, Tacea has inspired learners of all ages, first serving as a K-5 school librarian and now as a high school librarian. She is known for creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences and designing lessons that allow each student's unique strengths, interests, and voice to shine.

At Cabrillo, Tacea has made their library a welcoming and supportive space where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to succeed.
