For more than three decades, Dr. Baker has served Long Beach Unified with heart and purpose, from her first classroom experience to her role as Superintendent. Her leadership has been grounded in a steadfast commitment to students, to equity and excellence, and to the belief that schools are strongest when students are at the center.

Dr. Baker will continue to lead the District through the 2025-2026 school year. The Board of Education is committed to a thoughtful process that ensures stability, continuity, and continued support for our students and schools.

We are grateful for Dr. Baker’s service and for the trust our community places in Long Beach Unified. More information will be shared in the months ahead.
