Student Art Contest Winners

More than 100 local middle and high school students participated in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Art Contest as part of NOAA Day at the Aquarium of the Pacific.

The annual art contest raises awareness of NOAA’s mission and emphasizes ocean literacy within schools. This year’s theme was “Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean.”

Winners from Group One (grades 6 to 9) were: first place, Taylor Williams, a ninth grader at Wilson High School; second, Maggie Carter, a seventh grader at Marshall Academy of the Arts; and third, Sophia Estrada, a sixth grader at Rogers Middle School. 

Winners from Group Two (grades 10 to 12) were: first place, Chloe Rinker, a junior at Wilson High School; second, Kylie Escalante, a senior at Wilson High School; and third, Jacquelyn Rodriguez, a sophomore at Renaissance High School.
