The Press-Telegram’s 2025 Halloween-themed Scary Stories Contest recognized the following talented Long Beach Unified School District students across various categories:
Elementary School Stories – First Place: "The Floating Book" by Story Baughfman from Los Cerritos.
Elementary School Artwork – First Place: Untitled Artwork by Evan Baughfman from Los Cerritos.
Middle School Stories – Winner: “Another Act” by Hazel Ivie-Valle from Stanford.
Middle School Artwork – First Place: Untitled Artwork by Janet Yim from Nelson Academy.
High School Stories – First Place: Untitled Story by Aaron Lim from Poly.
High School Artwork – First Place: Untitled Artwork by Zion Hontiveros from Renaissance.
