Port of Long Beach High School Scholarship
Calling all Long Beach students!
The Port of Long Beach scholarship applications are now open from January 5 through February 20.
The Port of Long Beach scholarship is an annual award for high school seniors pursuing careers in international trade, goods movement, and other port-related industries, helping students become successful professionals and future leaders.
Scholarship awards range from $500 to $6,000, with amounts determined by the Scholarship Selection Committee.
Here are the rules:
- Be a senior at a public or private high school within the Long Beach Unified School District’s service area.
- Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5.
- Enroll part-time or full-time at an accredited college, university, community/junior college, or vocational/technical program in the fall of 2026.
- Plan to major in a field related to international trade, goods movement, or other port-related industries. These industries include, but are not limited to, international business, maritime law, global logistics, engineering, environmental science, security, or a trade program that includes HVAC, welding, clean trucks/alternative fuels, or electrical.
- Two-page essay submitted here.
- Unofficial copy of high school transcripts with official grade point average.
- Additional documentation you feel is appropriate; limit to 5 attachments total. (Resume, letter of recommendations, etc.)
- Proof of acceptance and enrollment in a trade program, college, or university is required prior to scholarship distribution.
