Poly’s Garden Club Continues to Grow
The Long Beach Poly Garden Club continues to thrive as it celebrates receiving a $5,000 ClimateLB Youth Climate Action Fund Microgrant, supported by Michael Bloomberg Philanthropies. The award was recognized at the Climate LB Youth Climate Action Fund Celebration on December 11, 2025, marking the Club’s second round as a recipient of the LB Youth Sustainability Microgrant.

The program aims to support youth ages 15-24 in designing, producing, and overseeing urgent climate solutions that further the City’s climate action goals.
Seventeen local organizations were selected to receive grant funding to support their proposed youth-led reforestation and tree-planting projects, climate education efforts, climate ambassador programs, and public art and awareness campaigns. Long Beach Poly was recognized for its Fourth Annual Festival of Gardening and Butterflies, for inspiring the school community through annual events, and for leading projects through its greenhouse. The club continues to host free workshops for students and the community, such as birdhouse building, paint-and-pot activities, and terrarium creation, providing meaningful opportunities for learning and connection to the environment.

Congratulations to the Poly Garden Club members for their continued leadership and commitment to growing a greener campus!
