Niche's 2026 List Honors LBUSD High Schools

The California Academy of Mathematics and Science (CAMS), along with several other schools in the Long Beach Unified School District, has been recognized as one of the top public schools in the nation by Niche.com’s 2026 Best Schools list. Niche’s annual rankings are determined through a careful review of key data from the U.S. Department of Education, as well as student and parent feedback.

CAMS has once again earned the distinction of being ranked the No. 1 Best Public High School in California, maintaining its top position from last year. The academy received high honors in Niche’s national rankings, including No. 5 Standout High School in America, No. 12 Best Magnet High School in America, and No. 14 Best College Prep Public High School in America.

In addition, CAMS and five other LBUSD high schools are recognized among the 24,889 schools included in the Best Public High Schools in America. CAMS is ranked No. 24, maintaining its 2024 position. Sato Academy of Mathematics and Science holds steady at No. 214. Poly High School has moved up from No. 393 in 2024 to No. 352 in 2026, and Millikan High School has advanced from No. 724 in 2024 to No. 482 in 2026. Wilson High School is newly listed at No. 575, and McBride High School is ranked No. 946.
