Long Beach Unified was featured in the Spring 2025 issue of LB 908 Magazine, highlighting the district's inclusive classroom environments with Co-Collaborative Teaching (CCT) Programs at certain elementary schools. A parent from LBUSD's community praises the program, stating that the progress of her children's emotional, social and academic growth is due to the implementation of the CCT Program and the strong collaboration between families and the district. Currently offered at ten Long Beach Unified elementary schools, the CCT program provides an environment where students with mild to moderate disabilities learn alongside neurotypical classmates, receiving the same resources and opportunities. Each classroom has two educators present: a credentialed teacher who offers the elementary curriculum and an education specialist who is credentialed in providing special education services. Both educators then collaborate to give students an equitable learning experience. To learn more about the remarkable CCT Program, visit our webpage.
