Four administrators from the Long Beach Unified School District were recently announced as recipients of the 2024 IMPACT Awards by the Long Beach City Prosecutor’s Office.

Scott Newman, a teacher at Cabrillo High School’s Academy of Law and Justice, was recognized for his work recruiting attorney mentors and preparing students for law-related careers.

LBUSD Assistant Superintendent of School Support Services Dr. Erin Simon, Cerritos Elementary School Principal Angel Mikaele and Program Administrator of Safe and Supportive Schools Lushandra Prioleau, were recognized as members of the City Prosecutor’s Multi-Cultural Advisory Commission for its innovative policy and program guidance.

The awards recognize the individuals and groups who made a positive and significant impact in the City of Long Beach while working with the City’s Prosecutor’s Office.

“Long Beach is blessed to have people who are passionate about improving our community, and who work hard to make a difference,” said City Prosecutor Doug Haubert. “These people set the standard, and Long Beach is a better, safer place because of them.”
