Yumi Lee from the Long Beach Unified School District was recently highlighted as one of the Linked Learning Alliance's Student of the Year, representing four districts across California. These young leaders exemplify what’s possible when students receive rigorous, relevant, and deeply connected learning to real-world opportunities.
Yumi completed the CAMS Engineering and Computer Science pathways and has made significant contributions to the field, serving as a summer intern at Boeing in Huntington Beach, co-authoring two books on cybersecurity and advanced Java programming, and is pursuing her goal of attending MIT.

LBUSD's McKinley PTO hosted a successful Winter Literacy Event, with many students, staff, and parent volunteers in attendance. Families enjoyed delicious food, free books, information booths, the Scholastic Book Fair, and a photobooth. Way to go Mckinley PTO!
