Millikan Hosts Inspiring Choir Concert

millikan-choir

Millikan High School recently hosted the annual LBUSD All-District Honor Choir Concert, bringing together choirs from Long Beach Unified elementary, middle, and high schools. More than 400 students, proudly representing nearly every school in Long Beach, performed together in a joyous, memorable finale.

The evening concluded with a special moment as Millikan senior Shawna Brief was recognized as the first recipient of the James Petri Vocal Music Scholarship. This scholarship, generously funded by Mr. Petri, a retired LBUSD music teacher and Music Curriculum Leader, supports a graduating vocal music senior who will continue their musical journey in college and aspires to a career in music education. Brief was given the award in a heart-warming moment with all of her previous music teachers in attendance.

Congratulations to all of our talented choir students for their outstanding performances, and to Shawna Brief for earning this well-deserved honor.
