Long Beach Poly to play at Sofi Stadium

Friday Night Lights - LA Bowl Promo

LBUSD is headed to Sofi Stadium for a thrilling football game matchup between Long Beach Poly High School playing against Mission Viejo High School. The highly anticipated rivalry game is presented by the Los Angeles Chargers and will occur on Friday, October 4th at 7 pm. The event promises to be filled with school spirit, high energy, and the athletes’ passion for football.

“We are excited to host two of these elite high school football programs at our world-class stadium,” Adolfo Romero, Executive Director for LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk said. “The Friday Night Lights series is dedicated to showcasing local talent, highlighting community spirit while providing a stage for these student-athletes to shine.”

The Long Beach community is eager for the rivalry to face off as both teams have impressive records. The must-see event features Poly High School, America’s top producer of professional athletes, as stated by The562.org. They have also been recognized as the nation’s top high school athletic program by Sports Illustrated and were recently listed as one of the top 100 high school football teams in America by the NFL’s Play Football. It is no surprise that Long Beach Poly has been decorated with numerous awards, as they are an exemplary school in academics and sports, living up to their school motto “Home of Scholars and Champions.”

General Admission tickets for the event are available to purchase through Ticketmaster. Pricing starts at $40 and is open to the stadium's 100 level only.

Student tickets are limited to (1) ticket and pricing is set to $20. LBUSD students must log in with an @lbschools.net email to purchase and are restricted to a designated student section.
