LBUSD's Adult Community Transition Program Hosts Market Day
The Long Beach Unified School District's Adult Community Transition (ACT) Program proudly organized a Market Day, where students showcased and sold their incredible, original artwork.
As one entered the room on Market Day, booths were filled with colorful and creative artworks made by ACT students. The exciting event displayed the hard work and hands-on experience students gained in entrepreneurship, communication and money management. Through the sales and interactions students experienced with customers, they felt a sense of independence and accomplishment by utilizing their decision-making skills.
Market Day not only promotes social interaction but additionally encourages teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills in a supportive and safe environment. The wonderful event serves as one of the many incredible resources available for the ACT Program, which prepares students to move from secondary settings to adult life, while utilizing comprehensive transition planning to help students achieve their post-school goals in education, training, employment, and independent living.
