LBUSD Students Showcase Their Art at LBMA
On November 16, the Long Beach Museum of Art (LBMA) hosted an exhibition showcasing the impressive artwork of middle school students from the Long Beach Unified School District.
The “Inside/Outside” exhibit featured digital art, collages, photography, and paintings created by talented students from Franklin, Hoover, Hughes, Nelson, Marshall, Rogers, and Stanford middle schools. LBMA had received nearly 200 submissions, twice as many as the previous year, with 47 students whose artwork is being displayed at the museum.
This year, students were encouraged to explore different facets of their identity. It challenged LBUSD students to creatively visualize how they want to be seen and how their self-expression evolves in various spaces. Through their work, students reflected on what feels most authentic to them, how they are still growing, and what it means to be themselves in different moments.
Visit LBMA through February 22, 2026, to see the exceptional works of these incredible young artists.
