On Saturday, January 17, LBUSD families and staff proudly celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the Long Beach Parade. The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and Celebration is a highly anticipated tradition that honors the diverse Long Beach community and highlights the legacy of Dr. King.

The morning began with a palpable sense of excitement as performers lined up and were ready to march. Flags were waved, whistles were blown, and a string of dance performances filled the streets. The crowd cheered in elation as Cabrillo’s marching band passed by with their thunderous drums and melodies, followed by the wonderful staff and families from LBUSD’s very own Sankofa Parent Villages.
