On September 27, the Long Beach Unified School District's Office of Equity, Engagement & Partnerships hosted its 2nd Annual Districtwide Latino Heritage Celebration at Cabrillo High School.

Thousands of students, staff, families, and community members attended the event to partake in the festivities celebrating Latino Heritage Month. As attendees entered, they were greeted by a vibrant archway that spelled "Bienvenidos," welcoming everyone.

The event featured a lineup of memorable student performances, including traditional Folklórico dances, live mariachi music, and Aztec dancers in colorful costumes, all taking the center stage adorned with Latin flags symbolic of unity, cultural pride, and Latino excellence.

Community partners, including Vida Latina, the City of Long Beach, YMCA, Long Beach Bar Foundation, Puente Latino Association, and Nutrición Bilingüe, provided informational resources at the event to continue uplifting the Latino community and honoring the importance of Latino culture.

LBUSD is proud to continue celebrating Latino Heritage Month in the future and highlight the diverse cultures, unity, and invaluable contributions of our Latino community.
