Lancers Go Green: Lakewood Students Celebrate Earth Day

Lakewood High School students came together to celebrate Earth Day, enjoying music, hands-on activities, and learning from informational booths hosted by local organizations.
The inaugural community service fair fostered a welcoming environment where students could explore, learn, and connect with organizations committed to environmental service. Students had the chance to discover volunteer opportunities, internships, and potential career paths. Representatives from the Aquarium of the Pacific, Long Beach City College, the Conservation Corps of Long Beach, the California Conservation Corps, the El Dorado Nature Center, and the Marine Mammal Care Center generously shared ways for students to make a positive impact in their communities.
Lakewood staff expressed appreciation to the community partners who made the event possible and look forward to the many activities planned throughout the week in celebration of Earth Day!
