The Newcomb Academy Sankofa Parent Village hosted its inaugural Middle School Career Fair on November 19, inviting families and community members to assist students in exploring career options.

Among those in attendance were Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson, Superintendent of Secondary Schools Ed Samuels, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary and K-8 Schools David Zaid, and twenty-one exceptional speakers. These experts led career sessions from different professional backgrounds covering a variety of fields, including STEM, innovation, business, arts, media, health, human services, education, law, safety, and public service.

Throughout the fair, students had the opportunity to connect with professionals, share their journeys, discuss the challenges they have faced and overcome, their passions, and the career paths they are considering.

The Newcomb Academy Middle School Career Fair was an incredible step towards understanding and addressing each student's unique needs, highlighting Vision 2035's core values and its continued effort to provide resources for students.
