Eighth Graders Earn Lough Scholarships
Five remarkable eighth graders have each been awarded $500 college scholarships, courtesy of the Lyman W. and Nancy E. Lough Eighth Grade Scholarship Fund!
These scholarships honor students who maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 and who exemplify good citizenship and demonstrate potential for future success. Many recipients have overcome challenges and continued to pursue their education with resilience and determination. Each scholarship awards $100 per year during high school, totaling $500 by the time students begin college.
The winners and their middle schools are:
- Isaac Avila Graciano from Franklin Middle School
- Tea Nicholl from Marshall Middle School
- Jimmy Gonzalez from Washington Middle School
- Shylyn Brown from Lindbergh Academy
- Adrita Barua from Robinson Academy
In addition, Gelina Rios from Jefferson Middle School was selected to receive a $180-per-year scholarship from the John Frangesh Memorial Fund, which follows the same selection criteria as the Lough Awards.
Congratulations to our students for this incredible achievement!
