David Miranda, Assistant Superintendent of Facilities & Operations for the Long Beach Unified School District, graduated from the Yale School of Management’s prestigious Master’s in Public Education Management program on August 9. His achievement marks the culmination of a rigorous, 14-month leadership journey with a nationally selected cohort of top education leaders working to transform urban public school systems. Miranda was selected through a district-nominated sponsorship, and balanced his responsibilities at LBUSD while completing the program, demonstrating strong commitment and focus.

Since joining Long Beach Unified in 2019, Miranda has led the District’s $5 billion building program with vision, discipline, and an unwavering focus on students. Under his guidance, a team of 70 facilities and construction staff have executed innovative, student-centered projects across the District, modernizing schools, improving safety, and transforming learning environments for our students.

“David’s graduation from this nationally respected program is a tremendous achievement and a reflection of the incredible leadership and expertise we see from him every day,” Superintendent Dr. Jill Baker said. “We’re so proud to celebrate this milestone with him.”

Throughout his tenure, David has steered the bond program with precision and heart, ensuring that every dollar spent results in opportunity, excellence, and equity for students. Congratulations, David Miranda!
