CAMS Awarded the 2024 National Blue Ribbon Award
The California Academy of Mathematics and Science has once again received America’s top honor for individual schools. CAMS is among 356 National Blue Ribbon Schools announced today by U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona.
CAMS earned the award in 2004, 2011, 2017 and again in 2024.
“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to CAMS for being recognized as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School,” Superintendent Dr. Jill A. Baker said. “This prestigious award highlights their unwavering commitment to academic excellence and support for every student, perfectly aligning with the first theme of our Creating a Better Future Together Strategic Plan: ensuring high-quality learning for all students. This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our educators, families, and community in fostering an inclusive and engaging environment where all students can thrive.”
National Blue Ribbon Schools are recognized for their overall academic performance or for their ability to close achievement gaps for student subgroups. This prestigious award serves not only as a symbol of exemplary American schools, but also as inspiration for schools across the nation, the Education Department’s release stated. CAMS is an exceptional school that accomplishes high learning standards for its students and acknowledges the hard work of its educators, communities, and families. They are among the highest performing schools based on students’ scores and graduation rates.
CAMS resides on the campus of Cal State Dominguez Hills under LBUSD. The high school has previously earned numerous national honors and awards, including America’s Best High School by Newsweek and ranked as the No.1 Best Public High School in California by Niche.
Congratulations to the students and educators of the California Academy of Mathematics and Science for this incredible achievement.
