Cabrillo Student Named as the 2026 Youth of the Year

Samajahe King, a dedicated student from Cabrillo High School, was recognized as the Long Beach Boys and Girls Club 2026 Youth of the Year!

The Great Futures Gala is an annual heartwarming event hosted by the Long Beach Boys and Girls Club that highlights and celebrates Long Beach’s most inspiring teens and their Club journey. Attendees were immersed in the celebration as they heard powerful speeches from three of their most outstanding teens. All finalists were awarded college scholarships in recognition of their achievements.

During the unforgettable celebration, Samajahe was brought on stage and honored as the Youth of the Year for her incredible leadership, hard work, and inspiring hope.
