Cabrillo Hosts Public Safety Day

Cabrillo Hosts Public Safety Day

Cabrillo High School recently hosted a successful Public Safety Day in November that brought together nearly 400 students for an engaging and educational event.

Students had the opportunity to participate in various hands-on experiences and informational panels from several public safety departments to explore career opportunities in law enforcement and related fields. Departments participating in the fair included the Port Police Division Dive Team, West Division Patrol, Forensics Crime Lab, Harbor Patrol, Investigations Juvenile Detail, K-9 Unit, Motor Patrol, Neighborhood Safety Bike Team, Personal Division, Recruitment Team, SWAT Tech and Cadets.

Panel discussions provided in-depth information about various careers, including Sworn, Personnel and Civilian sessions, allowing Cabrillo students to learn essential interviewing techniques from experienced professionals in the field.

“It was amazing to see all teachers and students from all four of our pathways attend the event,” Lauren Le, Cabrillo’s Pathway Coordinator, praised. “The day was a great success, offering students an opportunity to learn about the different aspects of public safety careers and gain firsthand knowledge from professionals in the field.”

Cabrillo High is excited to continue hosting similar educational events in the new year to help students gain insight into real-world career opportunities.
