Burcham Celebrates Vehicle Day

Recently, the wonderful staff members of the LBUSD Transportation Department visited Burcham Elementary School to help transitional kindergartners celebrate Vehicle Day.

Pamela Bee, a Transitional Kindergarten teacher at Burcham, collaborates annually with the Transportation Department and various vendors to showcase incredible vehicles to her students. As part of the tradition for Vehicle Day, she prepares lesson plans and facilitates interactions between the transportation team and the students, creating an engaging experience that everyone looks forward to.

The Transportation team demonstrated the variety of vehicles used by Long Beach Unified in their daily operations, including LBUSD’s yellow buses and adorned field mowers. The event had an incredible impact on Burcham students, who left with a sense of appreciation and glee. “The Transportation team’s dedication to sharing what they do with the kids always leaves me with a feeling of such gratitude. Our students shared their amazing experiences with their families and it was definitely a day to remember,” Bee remarked.

Burcham Elementary looks forward to celebrating Vehicle Day again next year, with the entire school eager for the joyful event.
