2026 School Board Member Election Results

Long Beach Unified School District Board of Education candidates Diana Craighead and Maria Isabel López have won the election to represent Districts 5 (Craighead) and District 1 (López) from the final results of the June 2, 2026 election.

López earned 76.9% of the vote in District 1, against challenger Deborah L. Betance. In District 5, Craighead earned 55.1% of the vote, ahead of challengers Sara Socheata Pol-Lim and Maureen Flaherty.

The school board’s five districts are divided by geographic area. Districts 1, 3, and 5 were up for election this year. In District 3, incumbent Dr. Juan Benitez was reelected unopposed.
