2026 School Board Member Election Early Results

Long Beach Unified School District Board of Education candidates Diana Craighead and Maria Isabel López are currently leading in the race to represent Districts 5 (Craighead) and District 1 (López) from the results of the June 2, 2026 election.

López earned 76.9% of the vote in District 1, against challenger Deborah L. Betance. In District 5, Craighead is currently leading with 55.1% of the vote, ahead of challengers Sara Socheata Pol-Lim and Maureen Flaherty.

The school board’s five districts are divided by geographic area. Districts 1, 3, and 5 were up for election this year. In District 3, incumbent Dr. Juan Benitez was reelected unopposed.
