Overview of LBUSD’s Teacher of the Year (TOY) Program
The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) has proudly served as the sponsoring organization of the Los Angeles County Teachers of the Year Program—an honors competition that spotlights excellence in public education. The county program, the largest in the state, is part of the California and National Teacher of the Year programs. Each year, LACOE recognizes all district-level Teachers of the Year, including the one LBUSD Teacher of the Year (TOY) winner.
LBUSD has established its own internal process for selecting one exemplary teacher to compete in the County program. LACOE allows one nominee from LBUSD. The timeline below reflects the LBUSD TOY Program information for this school year.

TOY Application Components:
Prior to submitting your application, review it carefully. Make sure all information is complete and accurate. Failure to provide a complete application by the due date will result in the candidate being disqualified from the 2026 LBUSD/LACOE/California TOY Program.
