Student Work Experience

Description: The opportunity for student’s to perform a variety of entry level duties as a part of instructional or vocational goals. Work experience programs are designed to provide students with on-the-job training in order to attain success academically and in the workplace. Students engage in professional learning and skill building through career-technical training in school and work based learning.

Teacher Pipeline

Description: LBUSD and Long Beach City College (LBCC) have partnered to create a dual enrollment pathway for current LBUSD high school students interested in teaching as a career. Students who complete 12 units of identified classes in the teaching pipeline sequence, prior to their graduation from LBUSD, will receive a conditional contract to come back and teach in LBUSD when they complete their teaching credential. LBCC classes for this pipeline are offered outside of the school day.
