On Tuesday, April 29, the bargaining teams for the Long Beach Unified School District and TALB held their sixth bargaining session for the 2024-2025 school year. During this full-day session, teams continue to make progress in negotiations.
Both parties have submitted all their proposals and continue working toward agreements on the remaining contract proposals. As a result of the work completed during the bargaining session, the teams addressed questions regarding contract language revisions and reached tentative agreements on the following:
- Leaves of Absence
- Dissemination of District Guidance Regarding Discipline Policies
Additionally, the District and TALB had productive discussions regarding several other articles and provisions of the contract.
The District remains committed to working collaboratively with TALB to reach a successor agreement. Future sessions will address key topics such as days and hours, association rights, dual enrollment protocols, inclusive teaching programs, and class size/staffing ratios.
Teams are working on scheduling another bargaining session in May.
We will keep you updated as negotiations progress.
