CSEA Membership Ratifies Tentative Agreements

As noted in the Bargaining Update from March 8, 2024, the bargaining teams for the Long Beach Unified School District and the California School Employees Association (CSEA), Long Beach Chapter 2, reached tentative agreements (TA) for the 2023-24 negotiation year for both Unit A and Unit B. Links to both TAs are provided below:
On Thursday, March 21, Unit A and Unit B members voted to accept the tentative agreements, with 99.7% of Unit A members voting in favor of the agreement and 93% of the Unit B members affirming the TA.
On Wednesday, April 17, the TAs will be presented to the Board of Education for their approval. Pending approval by the Board of Education, qualifying employees can expect to receive their retro checks issued on May 8 and the 4% ongoing raise reflected in their regular May paycheck. In September, unit members can expect their off-schedule check, which is 4% of an employee’s earnings from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024.
