CSEA’s 2021-22 Contract to be Negotiated in Fall

Representatives of the California School Employees Association and the Long Beach Unified School District have discussed the timeframe to open negotiations for the 2021-22 contract year. The District offered CSEA the opportunity to focus only on compensation for the 2021-22 contract year and then re-open the full contract during the fall of the 2022-23 fiscal year. This timing would have potentially enabled CSEA members to receive additional compensation as early as this summer. However, CSEA informed the District they would prefer to negotiate contract language and compensation together for the 2021-22 contract year, which will push the next round of negotiations to the fall.
