Introduction to Leadership
The Exploring Leadership Program provides professional development to candidates who are interested in pursuing leadership opportunities.
The Introduction to Coaching Program expands upon the work of the Exploring Leadership Program to provide professional development to experienced teachers who are committed to supporting equity for all students in order to close the opportunity gap.
Credential Programs
LBUSD currently offers its own Preliminary Administrative Services Credential Program designed to prepare future equity centered leaders and will be offering its own Clear Administrative Credential Program in Fall 2025. In addition, LBUSD partners with San Diego State University to offer certificated staff an opportunity to earn their doctorate in Educational Administration.
Leadership Pipeline
The LBUSD offers several different programs designed to prepare staff for administrative positions. The Future Administrators Program is designed for credentialed leaders who wish to prepare themselves for a career in administration. The New Administrators, Aspiring Principals and Central Office Year 1 and Year 2 Leader Programs provide coaching, professional development, learning and training to newly promoted site and central office leaders. The Exploring District Leadership Program continues the pipeline work of the ELTD Office to prepare a steady stream of administrators who are current in district philosophy and practice.
