Diana Craighead has served on the Long Beach Unified School District Board of Education since 2012 and currently serves as board president. A longtime Long Beach resident, she represents District 5, which includes East Long Beach and Lakewood. Craighead has been elected board president six times and previously served as president of the Long Beach PTA Council. She is especially proud that her three children attended LBUSD from kindergarten through high school, giving her a personal and long-term perspective on the district’s strengths and opportunities. With a deep commitment to education, she draws on her experience as a parent, volunteer, and trustee to champion student success. Her leadership focuses on strengthening public education and preparing students for college, careers, and life beyond the classroom.

I serve because I care deeply about LBUSD schools. Every decision I make is rooted in a belief that strong education strengthens the entire community.
