Doug Otto, a lifelong Long Beach resident and product of LBUSD schools, served as student body president at both Marshall Middle School and Millikan High School. He went on to earn degrees from Stanford University, Columbia University, Union Theological Seminary, and the University of Chicago Law School. An attorney, community leader, and former law professor, Otto has dedicated decades to serving students and families through education, the arts, and civic leadership, including multiple elected offices and community board roles. For his service, he has received numerous local and state awards. Married to his wife, Freda, for more than 35 years, Otto is also a devoted father and grandfather who brings both professional expertise and personal commitment to his board service.
