Creating A Better Future Together: In & With Our Community
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers,
Welcome to the Long Beach Unified School District and the 2025-2026 school year! We're excited to welcome our amazing students back to school. Together, we begin another year of learning and growing as we work to prepare every student for a bright and thriving future. Our Back to School Guide provides important information and helpful resources to help families and students start the year with confidence and connection.
As we enter this school year, we remain committed to Creating a Better Future Together: In & With Our Community. This theme reflects our belief that meaningful progress happens when we recognize, celebrate, and uplift the strengths of our entire community.
I look forward to a great year ahead and to connecting with you throughout the year.

Free and Reduced-Price Meals
Long Beach Unified School District announces its policy to serve nutritious meals every school day under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. Breakfasts and lunches will be served free of charge every school day, but Long Beach Unified School District is still required to make eligibility determinations for the free and reduced-price meals. Effective July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, children are considered eligible for free or reduced-price meals if the household income is less than or equal to the federal guidelines.
LBUSD is an equal opportunity provider. View additional information. Learn more at the Nutrition Services website.
Equitable Grading Policy for Middle & High School Students
Equitable grading practices ensure that students have opportunities across the district to demonstrate their knowledge and skills and are evaluated in a fair and consistent manner. This motivates students to engage in learning when they know that their efforts are valued and recognized.
ParentVue Information
Make sure you complete your Annual Verification in ParentVUE.
Families need to verify their student information each year. Doing so not only helps maintain contact information and communication preferences, but it also identifies students for various services/programs and determines school needs. To complete the verification, log into your ParentVUE account at ca-lbusd-psv.edupoint.com. If you need help signing up, please contact your school.
Strategic Plan
Creating a Better Future Together, our 2024–2029 Strategic Plan, is the first in a series of multi-year plans outlining the important steps we will take on the road toward realizing our vision. It covers four theme areas which together will set the foundations for achieving our vision.
Vision 2035
The Vision for Long Beach Unified School District focuses on what we want to be true for our graduates. Implementing it will require a journey of creativity, learning, continuous improvement and collaboration. Having that shared destination will speed results by aligning actions and resources, and by inspiring relevant collaborations.

Families must evaluate their personal practices and review the firearm safety and storage resources to ensure compliance with California law.
