Superintendent of Schools

  Goal 1:
All high schools will develop action plans to increase the number of African-American and other underrepresented students that are enrolled in the Honors Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate courses (each high school will have specific targets). The action plans will include strategies to enhance the retention and success rates of these students.

  Goal 2:
All district offices will report to the Board of Education on their department’s goals and objectives.

  Goal 3:
All schools will develop action plans to increase proficiency rates in English/Language Arts and Mathematics on the SBAC assessments. Schools will specifically address the needs of their underperforming subgroups.

  Goal 4:
Staff will provide the Board regular updates on the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and make recommendations for modifications to the LCAP as necessary based on data.

  Goal 5:
Staff will provide the Board regular updates on the implementation of the California State Standards.

  Goal 6:
Staff will provide the Board regular updates on the Long Beach College Promise (Early Learning, Linked Learning and the Students of Color Initiatives).

  Goal 7:
Staff will provide the Board regular updates on District efforts to enhance all students’ access to a broad curriculum (i.e. Visual and Performing Arts, Library Media Services, etc.).
