Two Long Beach Unified School District Student Health Services administrators are among the recipients of the 2022-23 Excellence in School Nursing Awards announced by the California School Nurses Organization Southern Section.
LBUSD Lead Nurse Claudia Martinez Plambeck received the Excellence in School Nursing Award, and Program Specialist Rose Van Meeveren received the Excellence in School Nursing/Health Services Administrator Award.
Formerly known as the School Nurse of the Year and School Nurse Administrator of the Year awards, the renamed CSNO’s Excellence Awards now recognize a school nurse and nurse administrator from each of the five regional sections.
The CSNO state board will select one school nurse and one nurse administrator from the statewide winners to represent the organization as the state affiliate at the National Association of School Nurses Conference.
“Thank you, Rose and Claudia, for your positive energy, tenacity and support,” Lead Nurse Sandra Morgan said. “Congratulations to both of you for this incredible and well-deserved award.”
