Cabrillo Named 'Distinguished School'

Cabrillo High School has been recognized as a 2021-22 Distinguished High School by the nonprofit Project Lead The Way (PLTW), a leading provider of science, technology, engineering and math curriculum.

Cabrillo is one of only 15 high schools in California to receive the recognition this year.

The PLTW Distinguished Program Recognition celebrates districts and schools committed to helping students own their education by increasing student access, engagement and achievement in their PLTW programs.

Cabrillo joins California Academy of Mathematics and Science and Sato Academy of Mathematics and Science as the only Long Beach Unified School District schools to have earned the PLTW Distinguished High School honor. CAMS and Sato received the recognition in 2020-21.

PLTW empowers millions of students across the U.S. to unlock their potential by developing the in-demand, real-world knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in life beyond the classroom.
