L.A. Times Praises Salary Transparency

The Los Angeles Times editorial board praised the Long Beach Unified School District in a Dec. 7 opinion piece titled “Californians need more transparency over school district salaries.”

LBUSD is among the 23 percent of public school employers that submitted pay information for 2020 to the state controller, who posts it on a public website, stated the nation’s fourth largest newspaper.

“Public education is an essential expense for the future of our society and state, but school districts have an obligation to be transparent in their spending,” the editorial continues. “Kudos to the districts that did the right thing and submitted their salary information to the controller,” the editorial continued.
