Districtwide Virtual Graduation Set for June 11


About 5,000 graduating seniors from 14 highs schools in the Long Beach Unified School District will be recognized during a virtual commencement ceremony at 8:20 p.m. Thursday, June 11 at

The start time is 20:20 in military, or 24-hour time, in honor of the Class of 2020.

Because health officials continue to advise against large, in-person gatherings due to the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic, schools cannot offer traditional graduation ceremonies.

The virtual graduation will feature student performances and speakers, along with school district leaders and Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia.
