Tincher Preparatory School held a garden planting day recently with the help of Colorado-based Kitchen Community. Parents, teachers and the principal used a grant to plan how the garden would tie into academic content standards. With a focus on harvests (as opposed to decorative or water-wise plants), the garden committee planned out the garden and involved students from all grade levels. The garden includes raised beds with seating to make it function as an outdoor classroom. The school also will receive a garden-themed mural to visually extend the garden space.
