Members of the California School Employees Association Long Beach Chapter 2 recently ratified agreements that include a 3 percent salary increase retroactive to July 1, 2013. The Long Beach Unified School District Board of Education also approved these agreements for CSEA Unit A and Unit B at its last regular meeting.
The pay increase mirrors the 3 percent raise that eligible non-represented employees and members of the Teachers Association of Long Beach received earlier this year. Classified employees are the non-certificated personnel who perform a wide range of work.
CSEA members approved the agreement by more than a 99 percent vote.
Retroactive pay for employees represented by CSEA will be disbursed on April 18, and the 3 percent increase will be reflected on these employees’ paychecks beginning with the April 25 paycheck.
