The Grainger Foundation recently donated $20,000 to the Long Beach Unified School District to support career and technical instruction as part of the district’s Academic and Career Success Initiative, which aims to increase both college and career readiness.
The donation was recommended by John Bailey, branch manager of W.W. Grainger, Inc.’s Compton location.
Grainger, a supplier of maintenance, repair and operating products, has nearly 50 locations throughout the state, including a branch in Long Beach since 1987.
“We understand that one of the best ways to invest in the community is to contribute to the education of our workforce,” Bailey said. “We are proud to recommend the technical education programs offered by Long Beach Unified School District.”
The Grainger Foundation, established in 1949, is an independent, private foundation based in Lake Forest, Illinois.
